Bringing temple rituals to devotees’ phones — and devotees to the app

Punyam lets devotees book pujas at partnered temples across India, offer chadhava such as flowers, diya and prasad, join seva and annaseva, and watch live darshan and aarti — all from their phone, with a video of the completed puja sent on WhatsApp.
Devotional apps live or die on trust: people need to believe a ritual booked online is genuinely performed at the temple, in their name and gotra. And an install is only the start — the business depends on devotees going on to book pujas and offerings, with demand peaking around festivals and auspicious days.
We built performance marketing around the whole journey, not the cheapest install: campaigns for Android and iOS were tracked through sign-up to first booking, so budget moved behind the audiences and creatives that produced real puja and chadhava bookings. Spend and creative were planned around the festival calendar and auspicious days, when devotees are most ready to take part.
On social, we made the ritual itself the hero — the temples, the priests, the sankalp and the completed puja — so people could see exactly what happens after they book. Daily darshan and aarti content, festival specials and Punyam Mudra rewards and referrals gave followers a reason to come back and a reason to download.
Punyam now runs a connected paid and social programme: festival-led campaigns bring new devotees into the app, and social content shows them the rituals behind every booking — building the trust a devotional platform depends on.
